Reporting to Parents
Day-to-day reporting
Class Charts is an online system which teachers use to record and monitor achievement and behaviour throughout the school day. We believe in working closely with parents and one of the key benefits of using Class Charts is that we are able to securely share your child(s) achievements and behaviours with you in real-time. Within school we monitor ClassCharts daily allowing us to celebrate success and work with students to modify their learning behaviours using interventions lead by teachers, tutors, Pastoral Managers and House Progress Leaders.
Over the course of the year, you will receive 3 reports on your child's progress and engagement in learning. There will also be either a tutor consultation evening and a subject consultation evening or two subject consultation evenings depending on which year group your son / daughter is in.
Reporting to parents at Key Stage 3
In the Autumn term you will receive an Engagement in Learning report which will outline how your son / daughter has settled into the new academic year. Each subject teacher and personal tutor will report on four categories of engagement:

In the Spring and Summer term, as well as Engagement in Learning, subject teachers will also comment on your son / daughter’s curriculum knowledge and understanding.
A Curriculum Knowledge and Understanding judgement will be reported for each subject. The basis for this judgement is the knowledge and understanding shown in your son / daughter’s classwork, homework, verbal answers and assessments in each subject.

As well as reporting on your son / daughter’s overall progress through the curriculum, in the Summer term you will receive your son / daughter’s end of year assessment score for subjects where written assessments occur. To help you interpret these scores, you will be provided with a comparison to their expected level and a summary judgement.

Each category is split into 4 judgements and are the same as those used at Key Stage 3. These can be seen in the information above.
In the Spring and Summer terms, subject teachers will report on your son / daughter’s current performance and predicted GCSE grade. This information will be reported alongside your son / daughter’s self-selected, ambitious GCSE target for each subject they study.

In Year 11, Practice Exam results will also be reported home.
